Servicing your vehicle:
Servicing your vehicle: A proper service of the Transmission should include pan removal and cleaning, replacing of the filter(s) and gasket, and a computer diagnostic, making any necessary adjustments. (i.e. with the linkage or bands when applicable). Please note that we do not recommend Transmission "Flushes". All transmissions generate a certain amount of metal debris. This debris is caught in the pan. When "flushing" a vehicle, hoses are hooked to the transmission cooler lines. Then the fluid is power flushed though. This circulates any debris that was caught in the pan. These pieces can restrict the filter or end up in the transmission where they can CAUSE damage. Transmissions should be serviced every 20,000 to 30,000 miles with normal usage. If you are towing frequently or pulling heavy loads this may need to be more often. Check transmission fluid level every time you change your engine oil. If you are unsure how to do this on your vehicle, come by. We will gladly show you.

The Best Defense is to have your transmission serviced every 20,000 to 30,000 miles (with normal usage)
